Corporate Press and ColorCraft Announce Expansions
New Capabilities & Staff Added to Support Growth

Lanham, Maryland, September 13, 2016 – In response to revenue growth in its grand format and direct mail businesses, Corporate Press and ColorCraft of Virginia have acquired additional production assets and have added key personnel to its staff.

According to Michael Marcian, president of the company, the growth is the result of strategic initiatives planned and started over the last several years.

“We’ve deliberately shaped our business to meet the evolving needs of our customers, which meant expanding our capabilities to support associations and non-profit entities for trade show and conference graphics as well as producing marketing materials as we’ve done historically. And for our customers in the direct marketing space, we expanded our direct mail production services in order to produce packages up to two million pieces” said Marcian.

ColorCraft has expanded with additional flat-bed wide format capacity, while the Corporate Press facility installed two additional web presses to support other recent expansions in continuous form laser imaging and insertion operations.

Marcian continued, “Our plan to grow by providing our customers with the ideas, insights and communications tools they require to be successful is working. A huge key to our success is our ability to add talent to our team in managerial, sales and direct labor roles. I’m truly excited by the deep experience and skills our new team members possess.”

In regard to the addition of talent, Marcian noted that Randy Sparrow joined ColorCraft as general manager for the litho and fulfillment operations of the company. Sparrow has a long track record of success with progressive, rapid growth printing companies, and is relocating to Northern Virginia from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Also on board as general manager of grand format operations at ColorCraft is Hutch Taylor, who possesses deep experience in leadership roles in the grand format and point-of-purchase industry. Taylor is responsible for managing the rapid growth of ColorCraft’s grand format business.

Patrick Murphy, vice president of sales for Corporate Press and ColorCraft, also announced three key additions to the sales team for the company.

Ryan Jank joins ColorCraft after a successful career in technology sales. Jank has a degree in print management from Illinois State University, and he will combine his deep knowledge of both technology and print in developing customer relationships for ColorCraft in grand format, commercial print and fulfillment.

Also joining the company is Doug Cox, who is an industry-leading sales executive specializing in direct mail services. Doug is a graduate of University of Maryland, and he possesses exceptional industry knowledge and relationships with direct marketing organizations nationwide.

Randy Rubin has joined ColorCraft and his extensive sales and leadership experience in grand format and point-of-purchase production will provide immediate benefit to ColorCraft’s customers. Rubin has served as a business development executive, company president and business owner during his career. He is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University.

In Memoriam

Lanham, Maryland, March 16, 2016 – Corporate Press and ColorCraft of Virginia mourn the loss of a beloved colleague and leader, James (Jim) Mayes, Jr.

Jim owned and operated ColorCraft of Virginia for many years prior to his retirement after the sale of the company to Corporate Press in 2012. He created the leading fine print company in the region, and positively inspired everyone he came into contact with. Jim was a vocal printing industry advocate, who served in numerous executive roles with the Printing Industries of Virginia (PIVA), Print & Graphics Association of the Mid-Atlantic (PGAMA), and Printing Industries of America (PIA).

“Today is a very sad day for everyone in our company. Jim Mayes was a great leader, friend and mentor,” said Michael Marcian, President of Corporate Press. “Jim was a true gentleman, and his work at ColorCraft and within the printing industry will leave a lasting, positive legacy. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Kathy, daughters Michelle and Meredith, and his grandchildren.”

Corporate Press Acquires JobOn

Lanham, Maryland, August 1, 2013 – Corporate Technology Group, wholly owned subsidiary of Corporate Press, Inc. announced today it will acquire Annapolis, MD based JobOn, the leader in video enabled job application technology. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Corporate Press Acquires ColorCraft in Sterling, VA

Lanham, Maryland, October 1, 2012 – Corporate Press, Inc. announced today the acquisition of ColorCraft of Virginia. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

ColorCraft was founded in 1986 and provides its customers with high-end color printing as well as digital print production. "ColorCraft has a strong reputation for award winning quality and their equipment, technology, and culture will bring added value to the Corporate Press customers," according to Michael A. Marcian, CEO of Corporate Press. "At the same time, ColorCraft customers will be able to take advantage of the service options offered by Corporate Press, including database services, creative, on-demand printing, SEO/SEM consulting, multi-media, analytic services, branded merchandise programs, direct mail production and storage and fulfillment."

James Mayes, President of ColorCraft said "positioning our quality printing and customer service, in combination with Corporate's vast array of integrated marketing, data, and direct mail offerings, creates a company whose capabilities are unsurpassed in delivering a comprehensive solution to clients." Mr. Mayes emphasized ColorCraft will remain in the Sterling, VA location and customers will continue to deal with the same great people. Additional mailing equipment will be moved into this location and ColorCraft customers will now have access to all of the services Corporate Press offers from their 72,000 sq. ft. facility in Lanham, MD.

This announcement comes roughly five years from Corporate Press acquiring Omniprint, a publications and direct mail printer. "The combined resources and capabilities will strengthen us as a leader in the rapidly growing direct marketing space," Mr. Marcian said. When asked about future plans, he said "we will continue to invest in technology and individuals who craft solutions to our customer's business challenges."
